03.07.2025 Polestar will sein neues SUV-Modell Polestar 7 ab 2028 in der Slowakei produzieren, um den EU-Strafzöllen auf aus China importierte E-Autos zu entgehen. Das Fahrzeug soll im Volvo-Werk in Kosice gebaut werden. Die Elektroautomarke, die zum chinesischen Geely-Konzern gehört, hatte bisher vor allem in China produziert. Wegen der neuen EU-Zölle von 28,8? Prozent verliert dieser Standort jedoch an Attraktivität. Um auch US-Zölle zu vermeiden, fertigt Polestar zudem Fahrzeuge in den USA und Südkorea.
