ETCs (Exchange Traded Commodities) sind börsengehandelte Wertpapiere, die den Anlegern eine Investition in Rohstoffe (engl.: Commodities) erlauben. Ein ETC ist eine Schuldverschreibung des Emittenten ohne Laufzeitbegrenzung. Daher ist ein ETC aus rechtlicher Sicht ein Zertifikat. Allerdings werden ETCs physisch mit den Basiswerten besichert. In der Regel bestimmt der Preis des Basiswertes bzw. der Preis von Futurekontrakten den jeweiligen Preis von Exchange Traded Commodities. Anlegern stehen über 100 ETCs, beispielsweise auf Edelmetalle wie Gold und Silber, Öl, Energie, Industriemetalle und Agrargüter zur Verfügung.
